Here's what people are saying about Dorothy
"An incredible performance by the ultra-talented Sunny Ormonde"
Susi Osborne, Northwich Literary Festival Director
"This show by Jane James is a chance for audiences to see the extraordinary talent of Sunny as an actor, separate from her radio career.
The piece is captivating from beginning to end, always amusing, at times poignant and occasionally hilarious. I particularly enjoyed her description of her recently held wedding anniversary party, despite the fact that her husband had been dead for five years. Pitched somewhere between lead characters in Keeping Up Appearances and Waiting for God, Sunny's performance was outstanding. Her facial expressions in particular were worth the entrance fee, a feature of her acting not, of course, enjoyed by her radio persona.
Whether you are an Archer's fan or not, this one woman show is not be missed, look out for future airings of Dorothy."
David Derrington, Director and Trustee of Bear Pit Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon
"The show could be said to have echoes of some of Victoria Wood's best comic creations, together with the poignancy of Alan Bennett's 'Talking Heads'.
Sunny's interpretation of this somewhat overbearing Northern woman incoporates every aspect of the life of 'ladies of a certain age' with brilliant observational humour, but also moments of real pathos - at times you could have heard a pin drop as the audience suddenly fell silent to listen to poignant memories....Jane James is a marvellously funny, clever and thoughtful writer."
Janet Ollier, Goosefest Festival Director
"Just loved the show - so very funny."
Lucy Lunt - "Ramblings" producer, Radio 4
"A super one woman show that kept me and the rest of the audience chuckling throughout the performance. The Airings of An Archers Actor's Aunt is well worth seeing whether you're an Archers addict or not, and Sunny Ormonde performs it brilliantly. She successfully draws you into her world with dry humour and clever malapropisms."
Rosemary Watts - "The Archers" producer, Radio 4
"The evening was hilarity throughout" "One of the best evenings out for a long time - script was brilliant" "If it comes to a theatre near you, go and see it!" "Sunny set herself into it seamlessly" 'Brilliant observational humour" "One of the best evenings out for a long time"
